Change the gross pay reference
Scale each country’s 2025 OECD average wage together. Values stay in local currency; the PPP column helps compare buying power.
Illustration scales the OECD average-wage result and holds the effective employee tax rate constant. Actual net pay changes with tax brackets, municipality, benefits and household situation. PPP amounts are purchasing-power-adjusted international dollars, not cash exchange rates.

How to read this comparison
Each topic has its own measure; there is no blended score hiding trade-offs. A lower price index means lower reported prices, while higher local purchasing power means reported local incomes stretch further. Local-currency prices are intended for within-country context; compare rent-to-pay ratios or the OECD PPP view across countries.
Price estimates and index values are crowd-sourced and city mix can shift the result. They are not official national price statistics.
